International Yoga Day

Darshan Academy, Rathonda, and Darshan Vidyalaya, Gulleria Bhat enthusiastically celebrated International Yoga Day 2026 from June 17-21,2026 in collaboration with the Government Ayurvedic Department. The week-long celebrations culminated in the observance of the 12th International Yoga Day at Darshan Academy, Rathonda, on 21 June 2026. The programme aimed to promote the importance of yoga for a healthy body, a peaceful mind, and a balanced lifestyle.

The event began with a warm welcome to our esteemed guests: Dr. Avdhesh Ji, Government Ayurvedic Doctor; Dr. Mohan Kumar Ji, Government Ayurvedic Doctor; and Shri Ramu Maurya Ji, Yoga Prashikshak. The guests were welcomed with flower bouquets as a token of respect and gratitude by Dr. Arindam Mohanta, Headmaster, Darshan Academy, Rathonda.

After the welcome ceremony, the guests conducted an engaging yoga session for the students. They explained the significance of yoga and demonstrated various yoga asanas. Students enthusiastically participated and learned different postures that help improve flexibility, concentration, and overall well-being.

Several competitions were also organized as part of the Yoga Day celebrations, including poster-making, Rangoli, Yogasan, and debate. The students showcased their creativity and talent. All the winners were awarded prizes and certificates of appreciation by the distinguished guests, along with our respected Headmaster, Dr. Arindam Mohanta. The guests appreciated the students’ efforts and enthusiasm and encouraged them to make yoga a part of their daily lives.

The Rangoli competition winners were Kanishka and Chahat (Class II).  Poster-making competition winners  Aarushi (Class IV),  Ashish (Class VII), and Garima (Class I). The Yogasan competition winners were Sandeep (Class I), Ashish (Class VII), and Aarushi (Class IV). The debate competition winner was Arjun.

The celebration concluded on a positive note, leaving everyone inspired to adopt yoga for a healthier and happier future. The event was a grand success and served as a meaningful reminder of the importance of physical fitness, mental well-being, and self-discipline.
